LG has announced its first Android mobile, the LG-GW620.Up until now, all LG smartphones have used the Windows Mobile OS.
Okay, so it’s official now that big companies are now up in arms and are really counting a big time on this OPEN SOURCE operating system for mobile devices which surely is known as “ANDROID” sparked by world renowned GOOGLE,inc.
Its just been a week only that HTC introduced a latest ANDROID smartphone from their stable itself.
Where MOTOROLA counting big on using ANDROID as a major weapon to get the lost shine back.Now with this announcement today, came as a surprise but was expected.
LG electronics, one of the world topmost electronic Appliances manufacturer has announced its venture into this unending JINX of Android O.S. by announcing a whole new smartphone “LG-GW620” to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year powered by the same .
The company positioned the announcement as an indication of its two-tier strategy of offering mobile customers a choice between open source platforms and proprietary platforms like Windows Mobile. The LG-GW620 features a 3-inch full touchscreen and slide out QWERTY keypad. The company said the handset would be available in the fourth quarter of this year in select European markets.
“The LG-GW620 will appeal to first-time smartphone customers by offering a new and different kind of user experience,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications. “Our objective is to provide a wide selection of smartphones to satisfy the diverse preferences of today’s consumers. This Android phone is just one of many smartphone models we plan to introduce worldwide in the years ahead.”
