first iPhone worm, Harmless but Annoying

The first worm affecting only Jail Broken iPhones has been discovered and affecting the users in Australia however the coder behind the word clarifies the motive behind its creation and also want users to emphasis on RTFM?, first.
Well is this a co-incidence or what.
Like a last month or so, we guys were discussing about some vulnerabilities may exist in Apple Devices and how to eventually discover and write the code for the same.
Admiring the security factor of Apple Devices make them top notch and one of the most user friendly device or application.
Though, this is really not surprising that a news broke out about last night with regards to the Jailbroken iPhones having some serious wallpaper issue and its not even a bug but a WORM later discovered or unveiled by a security firm namely SOPHOS.
The official blog claims that the worm first was reported by on an online forum about their smartphones have been infected by a worm that has changed their wallpaper to an image of 1980s pop crooner Rick Astley.
However, the worm, known as Ikee, is only a threat to users who have jail broken their phones to let them run unauthorized software, security experts say.
A random Googl’ing suggested a place where there is an is posted between Joshua “JD” Davison, managing director with Australian ISP reseller JelTel and Ikee (dubbed as the coder of this First iPhone worm aka Ashley Towns, a 21 year-old unemployed programmer from Wollogong, Australia), questioning the reasons, consequences and the whole ideology behind the creation of such a worm.
For some reasons, Towns insisted and clarified the intentions behind this worm is to make users known to the fact that almost 90 percent of the Jail Broken iPhones running SSH daemons are accessible using initial password “root:apline“. And also posted a comment inside the source code published on sunday for the same worm as ,
Why?: Boredom, because i found it so stupid the fact that on my initial scan of my 3G optus range i found 27 hosts running SSH daemons, i could access 26 of them with root:alpine. Doesn’t anyone RTFM anymore?
Whatever the reason or the questions are, one thing for sure. APPLE has yet to make any official comment about the same but of course they just got themselves a reason to smile for as they don’t encourage Jail Breaking of iPhone at all.
P.S , care to ask some questions, to the coder.
, which states a little intro about him as “A bored, lazy 20yo with nothing better to do then tell you about his life
